The Lido Open is an annual event showcasing the best in contemporary art from emerging and established artists in the UK and Ireland.
This is the fifth annual Lido Open, with the winning artist receiving the prize of a solo presentation at The Lido Stores in 2026.
The Lido Stores is well-known for owner-gallerist Kristen Healy’s dynamic and inspiring curation. The Lido Open 2025 will see Healy curate more than 100 works alongside Sophie von Hellermann, occupying the entirety of The Lido Stores for the first time. This, the ninth - and biggest - open call staged by The Lido Stores, introduces a cadre of phenomenal artists to the southeast’s arts scene, the majority of whom are exhibiting in Margate for the first time.

The “100/50” exhibition features an inspiring selection of works from artists that are often overlooked and are often emerging talent, often those of who have not only honed their skills but have also navigated the challenging landscape of the art world with unwavering determination. This exhibition seeks to honour those who have consistently pushed forward, demonstrating that true artistic success is a marathon, not a sprint.
