Ancestral Landscapes
2025-26

Ancestral Landscapes explore the materiality of paint through abstraction and the relationship between memory, place and the emotional resonance left behind.  The work reflects on the journeys and paths that shape our lives and considers how traces of the past remain present in our shared experience of the land.

Working intuitively with oil, acrylic and marble dust, I explore tension and control through gesture, texture, surface and colour. Rich, dynamic palettes are balanced by simplicity and calm. Allowing each mark to inform the next, I let the painting evolve through process, gradually revealing a sense of landscape.
