Lucy Merriman's practice grew from decades of working with textile print where layering, texture and chance became fundamental to her way of seeing.  She brings a printmaker's sensibility to surface and an instinctive understanding of colour and mark-making to her painting practice.

 

Her landscapes move between representation and abstraction, drawing on the physicality of the natural world and the emotional resonance that places leave behind.
